Final Reflection
The project that I am most proud of is the Oaxacan Animal Bowl. I thought that I had a good idea for my animal bowl, and that I didn't leave any of the clay visible, which is what you wanted. I also had a fun time doing this project, that's what made it one of my favorites. Honestly, I wouldn't say that this had that much to impact my learning in art, sure it was fun and all but I don't see how it could have impacted my work too much, other than it showed me that art doesn't have to be so stressful when it comes to painting. That's how I imagined art before, because it seems very easy for you to be able to mess things up, but it really isn't stressful. It taught me that, and to have fun with art.
This class showed me, like I said above that art doesn't have to be stressful. All and all, our class had a lot of fun, except for the little showcasing in the middle. But we had fun, and it showed me that I really do enjoy art. Now I look at art differently after we analyzed some art. I now try to get into the artist mind and try to figure out what he was thinking about when he/she made this painting, or any type of art really. Also, now I appreciate art a lot more, now that I have done some extensive work with art, I understand how frustrating art can get, and you just have to cope with it.

Personal Space Box
Purpose: Copy & Paste the following onto your blog:
The purpose of this project was to look closely at the work of Winslow Homer so that I could better understand who he is as an artist as well as learn how to describe, interpret, and evaluate works of art. In response to looking at Homer’s work, I created a relief sculpture that is inspired by his work and concepts.
Artists Studied: Winslow HomerMy place is located in Maine. I have a strong connection to this place because this is where I learned to ski, and where I spent a lot time in the winter. I really enjoy this place because this is where my friends and I can go off and do our own thing, and have fun skiing. I enjoying skiing a lot and this is my favorite place to ski. Ya... I didn't choice and object because I don't know what I could have done.

Winslow Homer, Basket of Clams
Medium: Watercolor
Year of creation: 1873
Describe as much as you can about the artwork. There are two young boys walking on the beach, I'd say about 9 and 6. There are fish and seaweed on the beach also. Looks warm. There are two kids, and a dead fish on the beach. The kids are walking up the beach with a basket of clams probably, and the dead fish is dead.. In the background there is a beached shipped, and on the pier. It is around 11 maybe noon, and the artist used warm colors.
Point of interest/Composition – The boys attract my eyes first because they are located a little below the middle of the painting. He draws your attention because of the color on the boys undershirt, which is red.
Balance - This is asymmetrical.
Depth/Perspective- The horizon line is the pier, right about the ship. The foreground is the beach, while the middle ground is the ship, and the background is the pier, and the sky. The background is not too far away. It is probably 100 feet away. I have good depth perception.
Mood – They look tired the boys do. You can tell their mood just by looking at their facial expressions.
Interpret - He is trying to communicate the life of a clammer. They look very tired, and possible that their father(s) wanted them to do this.
Oaxacan Animal Bowl
- To gain a basic understanding of folk art and Oaxacan artistic culture and to create a ceramic bowl inspired by this culture’s style
- To become acquainted with basic ceramic vocabulary
- The Oaxacan Culture from Mexico
I learned about the Oaxacan tribe and how cool they are. I also learned how to make different patterns, and how to make other colors pop out when you put them next to another color. Lastly, I learned how to sculpt clay.
