Oaxacan Clay Bowl

Mexico is very large, it spreads from the southern part of the United States, to the Caribbean Sea! Pretty large I'd say! Mexico covers around 460,000 square miles, pretty big if you think about it! Mexico is home to the worlds largest peninsula! That peninsula is the Baja Peninsula. Mexico also is a home to the a lot of active volcanos! Now that is pretty scary! AHH! Mexico has rain forests, several deserts, and also it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Western Mexico is mostly very hot, and dry, when in the east is more humid and icky wet. The swaps in Mexico are fed by underwater springs, the only swamps in the world to have that! ¡Interesante! (interesting). Every Nov. 2nd (not every other) there is a joyous holiday. That is when the dead are said to return to the earth to walk again! It is Mexico's idea of Halloween! In the days leading up to the joyous holiday, families build alters in their homes. Now at midnight, on Nov. 1st, families go to the grave yard, and visit loved ones that have passed on. The bring them gifts, such as plates, and the deceased favorite foods.
